For clients that invest with us, the financial planning cost is typically free. We get paid via commissions from the investment houses.
So you can call anytime for advice, to ask questions, to reassess your financial plan – we’re totally available to you. No nickel and diming.
If you have highly complex financial needs that require extensive work, we will charge a fee. Of course we’ll talk with you about this ahead of time so you know what to expect.
Alternatively, you can choose to engage us for an hourly fee. We will help you figure out the best option for you. Please call us to discuss.

If you’re new to mutual fund investing and wondering how it works, here’s a breakdown of how the fees are structured. This information will be familiar to you if you’re already investing in mutual funds with other institutions.
Option #1:
The most popular option by far
- You pay no fees or commissions up front
- Some fund companies charge a fee if you redeem your investment within 6 or 7 years. We’ll help you understand the specific rules for the funds you select, and you can always refer to the prospectus from each fund company.
Option #2:
Pay the mutual fund commission up front
- You pay an up-front commission on each dollar you invest. The fee ranges from 1% to 4% of your investment, depending on the size of your investment.
Option #3:
For high net-worth clients
- If you have a minimum investment portfolio of $250,000 you can opt to pay a flat annual fee that equals 1% of your portfolio. Larger portfolios may be charged a smaller percentage.
